EMT and EMT Refresher

This program prepares you to obtain certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with National Registry Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).

EMTs work in a high stress environment and must have strong communication skills and attention to detail.
At the same time, they must care about the people they are helping and learn to stay calm as they work in life-saving situations. Do you have what it takes? EMT students at Harford Community College train in a facility that has the most current equipment, an on-site, fully functioning ambulance box, and an observation classroom designed for critique of situational practice and procedures. Instructors are working professionals who bring their real world experience and passion to each and every lesson.

What Can I Do When I Complete This Program?

This program prepares students to sit for the National Registry exams to become nationally certified. Those who complete this program will be prepared to work as an emergency medical technician. EMT's use their skills to stabilize patients and work as part of a team under medical supervision, either with other BLS providers or with Paramedics. They respond to both critical and emergent patients.
