COVID-19:
Information and Resources
Effective July 5, 2022, masks will no longer be required in any area on campus and social distance requirements will be eliminated.
- The Health and Safety Commttee will continue to monitor community levels and follow CDC guidelines should the trajectory change and levels go up.
- Faculty and staff with documented health challenges may still require masks to be worn in their classrooms and workspaces. As always, those who feel more comfortable continuing to wear masks should do so.
- Those who have been exposed to COVID-19 should continue to wear a mask while indoors. For current guidelines on what constitutes COVID-19 exposure and what an exposed individual should do, please follow the instructions located on the CDC website.
In addition, faculty and staff may choose to require masks in their classrooms, meetings, or personal workspaces.
- Students and employees are asked to continue to have a mask available for these special circumstances. (This option will be reviewed and may be updated before the end of spring semester.)
Employees and students may continue to wear masks at their discretion.
- Disposable masks will continue to be made available to employees and students.
- Students may follow the signs on buildings to locate the supply in each building.
- Employees may contact their building administrator for assistance.
Please continue to follow the COVID-19 mitigation strategies below to ensure the health and safety of our campus community:
- Practice frequent handwashing.
- Stay home when sick.
- Vaccines are highly encouraged but not required.
- Please contact the COVID-19 Response Team at covid@harford.edu if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or with any additional questions or concerns.
Resources for Students, Employees, and Community
The College follows CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Food, family and financial resources are available for students, employees, and the community. Below we have provided links to some of the most commonly asked questions as well as to services and resources that are available both from the College and the government.
Reopening Plan
The Report and Recommendations for Reopening Campus (rev. 3/31/2021) and the Report Addendum (rev. 6/02/2021), outline a phased reopening plan for the College with each stage contingent on local, state, and federal guidelines, as well as current public health recommendations.
Stage 3, a full reopening of all campus buildings and facilities, will occur only be when the United States has developed effective therapeutic methods and/or a vaccine to combat COVID-19. It is also highly dependent on Governor Hogan’s Maryland Strong: Roadmap to Recovery. At this time it is simply impossible to predict when external conditions will become favorable and allow us to consider a full reopening of campus.
Campus Air Quality Improvements
The College is committed to providing a safe campus for our students and employees. The following video describes the ionization and UV controls that we installed to clean the air and surfaces within our buildings.
