for Career and Workforce Training

Need help paying for workforce development programs?

Harford Community College offers several opportunities to obtain scholarships, tuition assistance and payment plans for those looking to increase their earning potential, upgrade job skills, secure a license or certification, or advance their career. Eligibility is based on several different factors depending are are outlined in the descriptions below.


GEER II Funding 

Thanks to the Governor's Emergency Education Relief (GEER), those enrolling in specific certificate or licensure programs at Harford Community College may be eligible to receive financial awards distributed in the form of scholarships, achievement stipends, exam vouchers, and money for materials and supplies.

Currently there are funds available for those interested in obtaining Security + or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certifications.

Foundation Scholarships 

These scholarships are available to those enrolled in specified career and workforce programs at Harford's Leading Edge Training Center Powered by the Ratcliffe Foundation.

This facility is located in Edgewood, Maryland and shares space with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford & Cecil Counties.

Additional Scholarships and Funding Opportunities

This scholarship is funded by APGFCU and available to those students enrolling in a workforce development program. In addition to meeting any class or program requirements, the student should have a current account with a credit union. The scholarship will pay up to $1,000 for tuition, fees, and required supplies.

If you're interested in pursuing a career in IT, Construction/Trades, or Healthcare, you should apply now for this scholarship.

The following Workforce Development programs are approved as eligible for
Maryland's Workforce Development Sequence Scholarship:
A+ Certification | Certified Nursing Assistant | Culinary Technician | Drone Technology | Heavy Equipment Operator | HVAC | Nurse Refresher | Paramedic and Phlebotomy Technician

This state funded scholarship is available to Maryland residents or graduates of a Maryland High School that are registering for an approved Workforce Development program—both new and current students may apply. Up to $2,000.00 per fiscal year can be awarded. Applications are reviewed in the order received and based on available funding.

This College funded scholarship is awarded based on financial need and available for those students completing a Workforce Development Program. Funds will cover tuition and fees. Applications are reviewed in the order received and based on available funding.

This scholarship is available to students that are accepted into the HCC Paramedic Program and meet the eligibility requirement. One scholarship is awarded per cohort, up to $5,000.00. Funds can be used for tuition, fees, textbooks and program associated costs.

Harford Community College offers a payment plan that allows you to make monthly payments with a minimum balance of $500 in tuition and course fees for a Workforce Development program.
