Classes at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG)

Each semester Harford Community College offers a variety of classes on post at Aberdeen Proving Ground.

Although originally designed to support those working at APG, classes are open to anyone and the registration process is no different than for any other Harford class.

If you are planning to take a class at APG, be aware of the requirements to get on post and prepare your time accordingly.

Attending Classes At APG: What you need to know

Two weeks prior to the start of the semester you will receive specific information regarding the class you are registered for at APG including your classroom assignment.

Classes are held on the second floor of the Janet M. Barr Soldier Support Center, Building 4305, 6488 Rodman Road, APG.

Check your OwlMail account often for any changes to your class or location.

Prior to the first night of class, you must obtain access to APG .

Acquire an APG Access Pass

Everyone must have a valid pass to access APG. Those who do not already have access must enter APG via Route 715 East off Route 40 in Aberdeen.

Once you enter post, Route 715 East becomes Maryland Boulevard. Before you reach the security gate to post, there will be a sign on the right for the Visitor’s Center. Here you will be asked to present your driver’s license and car registration. Staff at the Center will complete a NCIC Check which includes a background check which takes approximately 5 minutes provided the Center is not crowded. You will then receive a pass that allows entrance to APG for classes. Please note that this pass can ONLY be used to enter the Maryland 715 Gate.
