Military and Veteran Support
Serving those who serve our country is a mission that Harford Community College takes seriously.
We understand that military-connected students—whether veteran, active, or spouses and children of those serving—often have situations that differ from our traditional students and we pride ourselves in offering you the support, flexibility, and aid that you both need and deserve. Whether you are upgrading work skills, seeking a transfer program, plan to earn an associate degree or occupational certificate, Harford's faculty and staff are here to assist you.

Military Support Services
The Military & Veterans Resource Center helps veteran and military students ensure a smooth transition from boots to books. Located in the lower level of the Student Center, the Resource Center is a dedicated space where military-connected students have access to academic, family, and financial support services as well as have a place to study and connect with other military-connected students. Only those with appropriate swipe card permissions may access the Center.
This Registered Student Organization serves veterans, active military, and military spouses and children enrolled at Harford and promotes the needs and interests of veterans and their families. Meetings, guest speakers, trips and other activities provide a place to meet both formally and socially in an environment of mutual. Members share information and resources regarding medical, financial, and academic benefits, advocate for military issues, participate in on campus military events, and share concerns and achievements in their academic and career paths. Job placement opportunities for veterans is also available.
The Club's mission is to:
- To inform and help members access the academic and financial benefits available to them.
- Provide a forum for students to discuss their foremost concerns regarding academic growth.
- To ensure members are receiving their medical benefits
- To help members in job placement when they are ready to join the workforce
Membership is open to all active duty personnel, Reserve & National Guard personnel, veterans, military dependents, and Harford students with a desire to support our military-connected students.

Harford Community College offers priority registration to all veteran/military students who served/currently serving in any branch of the Armed Forces of the United States, including the National Guard and the Military Reserves and received an Honorable or A Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of Military Service.
To be eligible for the 30-credit priority registration, students must indicate their veteran status on the Harford Community College Application form. Priority registration does not waive any course or program requirements, such as prerequisites and program restrictions. All student registration holds must be resolved before students can take advantage of Priority registration. Students can check their OwlNet account under My Academic Life, then Degree Works to determine whether or not there is a Registration Hold on their account. Academic courses are available on a first-come, first- served basis.
Military Training Transcripts
In accordance with §15-113 of the Education Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland
and in support of the Veteran Full Employment Act (VFEA), Harford Community College
awards credit for a variety of formal military training, education, and coursework.
Evaluations will be completed for students who submit official military transcripts
through the Joint Transcript Services (JST) for Army, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard,
or the Community College of the Air Force. In awarding credit, the College follows
the recommendations of the American Council on Education's (ACE) Guide to the Evaluation
of Education Experiences in the Armed Services. For more information contact the Registration

All Military, Reserve, and Veteran students are eligible to pursue Credit for Competency-Based

Transcripts from Other Institutions
Submit official copies of your military and college transcripts to Harford's Registration and Records Office. Military transcripts for Army, Marine Corps, Navy, & Coast Guard can be requested from the Joint Services Transcript. Air Force Community College transcripts can be requested on their website.
